Second edition of the b.creative international competition for social innovation

KEA has launched the second edition of b.creative, an international competition designed to encourage young artists and cultural and creative entrepreneurs to work for social innovation while also encouraging new collaborations.
b.creative is seeking projects that employ creative and artistic skills to enable innovation in environmental protection, mental and physical well-being, new food and sustainable agriculture, social cohesion, access to education and digital literacy, the fight against poverty and other issues.
The competition is open to:
- creative entrepreneurs;
- cultural entrepreneurs;
- artists, authors and performers.
Applicants should be professionals under 40 years old.
b.creative is aimed at entrepreneurs working in the following sectors: visual arts, advertising, architecture, crafts, design, fashion, film and video, gastronomy, music, publishing, radio and television, computer games, and performing arts.
To participate in the competition, applicants must submit a written proposal and a short video describing the project. The concept must be written in English and must not exceed ten pages. The document must be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org and should include:
- a description of the idea;
- the rationale behind the project;
- cross-sectoral aspects;
- target audiences;
- key activities;
- key resources and partners;
- a financial plan and needs;
- a CV for each team member and a short description of the relationship between the applicants.
The video must not be longer than two-and-a-half minutes and must not exceed 500 MB; it must be sent to email@example.com via wetransfer.com.
The winning application will receive professional advice and mentoring (comprising a three-month, rent-free incubation in Shenzhen within the Soft Landing in China programme offered by Innovation Entrepreneurship Competition Shenzhen and an incubation programme at Creatis Brussels). It will also benefit from media and marketing exposure through the Creative Tracks project or Creative Europe.
The team behind the winning application will also receive two return tickets and accommodation for the next b.creative event, which will take place in Shenzhen, China, in December 2017.
