BACKSTORY - THE FILM RESIDENCY 2019

BACKSTORY - THE FILM RESIDENCY 2019

Deadline: December 2, 2018

A residency program for emerging filmmakers from the Middle East, North Africa and Germany.

Goethe-Institut, Beirut Art Residency and Metropolis Cinema are pleased to announce the third edition of “BACKSTORY – The Film Residency”, a residency program for emerging filmmakers from the Middle East, North Africa and Germany. The residency program is designed to support filmmakers in their professional careers by providing them with mentoring formats, master classes, technical equipment and a space for work where they can realize their projects. Along with the support offered, the program aims to set up a platform for the filmmakers to network, collaborate and gain insight from other filmmakers in the region and Europe.

The application is now open for those who already have professional work experience and who plan to bring to life a film project (pre-production, production or post-production). “BACKSTORY” provides an artistically inspiring atmosphere in the heart of Beirut as well as time and space to work on the project under comforting conditions including: accommodation, a monthly stipend and flight tickets.

Those who are interested to take part in this extraordinary opportunity can apply online now via: www.goethe.de/beirut/backstory

Deadline for applications is December 2, 2018. An international jury will select the residents for the year 2019, who will be announced in March 2019.
