The Goethe-Institut’s Moving MENA programme supports cultural exchanges for cultural actors from Arab countries – Call for Applications
The deadlines for applications are:
15 September 2017 (for travel from October 15 to November 31)
1 November 2017 (for travel in December)
The mobility program Moving MENA of the Goethe-Institut in Cairo makes it possible for cultural actors from Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Libya, Yemen, Lebanon, Iraq, and Jordan to participate in festivals, exhibits, and other artistic events in Germany. In some cases, travel for the research of future projects is also supported.
The Moving MENA travel stipend programme targets young, local artists who would like to: collaborate with a German cultural organization, participate in an event relevant to their projects, present their own work in Germany, join discussions, for example within film or theatre festivals, cultural policy conferences, or exhibitions, and other cultural projects. The specific event or project must be defined before submitting the application.
Additionally, curators, artistic directors, producers, and project leaders of initiatives and institutions from the Arab world can apply in order to meet current and potential partners in Germany or other Arab countries to develop joint initiatives.
Applications from Arab countries other than those listed above are, in specific cases, also possible. Travel from the region to Germany and to other countries in the Arab world will be financed. The financial support includes flight and hotel costs, as well as daily stipends, airport transfer costs, and help with visa applications.
After their return, the Goethe-Institut requires a report on the trip, as well as photos and any press reports on the project. Host organizations commit to referencing the support of Moving MENA in relevant publications and on their websites.
